Charlie shares his tips for shopping for the best cooking ingredients, explains how to use those ingredients properly, and gives a step-by-step tutorial on how to cook a delicious meal for the holiday.

Charlie Gasparino’s Homemade Lasagne:

To feed 5-7 people

 

Start with making meatballs:

1 lb ground beef

2 eggs

½ cup breadcrumbs

2 tablespoons parsley

1 tablespoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Brown and bake at 350 for 20 minutes

Then sauce:

2 cans crushed tomatoes

½ cup olive oil

1 small onion

Basil leaves

Sprinkle of parsley and oregano

Garlic

Throw in a meatball or 2 to add flavor while sauce simmers for 2-3 hours

Finally assemble Lasagne:

Start with sauce on bottom

Layer of dry noodles

Layer of crushed meatballs

Layer of dry noodles

Layer of ricotta

Layer of noodles

Final layer of sauce

Top with mozzarella and bake in oven  at 375 for 10 minutes
