Douglas Holtz-Eakin, President of the American Action Forum, Fmr. CBO Director joined the Guy Benson Show to react to White House press secretary Jen Psaki calling the CBO’s recent scoring of Biden’s Build Back Better spending bill ‘fake’.

Holtz-Eakin reacted to the White House’s claim saying,

“The CBO works for the Congress. It works in particular for the budget committees, and it answers their questions. And the question the Democrats asked was what does the bill called the build back better act cost? If you take it at face value that CBO’s job, when it scores bills and they concluded that, you know, it raised one point three and taxes. It raised about 1.7 in spending, and it ran a deficit of about 400 billion. Well, not all Democrats like that answer, but that’s the answer they gave. Two Republicans, the ranking members of the House and Senate Budget Committee, who are people CBO literally must listen to wrote to them and said, OK, make these changes, make these 17 programs last for 10 years and tell us what it costs now. CBO answered the question three trillion dollars more. So there’s nothing fake about that. They’re answering a question from their congressional masters. In either case, they’re using the same techniques. They’re applying the same databases to it, and they’re getting the answers they get. It’s something that really should be taken at face value.”
