Dr. Nicole Saphier On Vaccinating Kids

Listen To The Full Interview Below:

Dr. Nicole Saphier, Board Certified Medical Doctor, Senior Fox News Medical Contributor joined the Guy Benson Show to discuss the data behind the need to vaccinate children against covid-19.

Dr. Saphier gave her thoughts on the need to vaccinate children against covid-19 saying,

“Undeniably the FDA is going to give the green light for the EUA. I mean, that’s just going to happen. We know that now the big question is, what’s the CDC going to do with it? Because the CDC can say, you know, maybe we should be doing this in a risk based strategy. Perhaps we offer the vaccine to those who have preexisting health conditions or have someone at home who’s immunocompromised. But if the CDC comes forth and recommends this and all kids, we know what happens in the United States, mandates follow. So I am concerned with that because when you looked at the adolescent data, there was the increased risk of myocarditis. Well, the Pfizer themselves said no cases of myocarditis were seen in the five to 11 age group. But then they also admitted, Oh, by the way, the study wasn’t powered enough, meaning there weren’t enough children enrolled in the study to capture those rare adverse effects. So are we going to do what we did with the adolescents and approve it and then wait until the mass vaccination campaign where you start seeing some of those rare side effects? I really hope not. I hope that the United States becomes a little bit more flexible like other countries where they’re offering one dose or they’re doing the risk based strategy, or they’re saying, Hey, you know what, unless you’re vulnerable, you know, I don’t really think that you need to be vaccinated, so they have to scrutinize a little bit more through the data before I can hop on the bandwagon of generalized vaccination in this age group.”
