This week, the gunman responsible for the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida pleaded guilty to 17 counts of murder and another 17 counts of attempted murder.
The prosecutors are seeking the death penalty, but for now, the shooter must await a jury’s decision on sentencing.
Shortly after the gunman pled, Ryan Petty, whose daughter Alaina was killed in the Parkland shooting, joined host Dave Anthony.
Petty gave his reaction to the killer’s plea and courtroom apology, what he believes can be done to keep kids safe at school and whether or not he will ever get closure.
The original interview was too long and we couldn’t include all of it in our segment. On The FOX News Rundown EXTRA, you will hear our entire conversation with Ryan Petty and his thoughts on the killer, the debate over guns and how to prevent future school shootings
