Congressman Michael Waltz of Florida joined Fox News Radio’s Guy Benson Show to react to top Military Generals testimony on Capitol hill were they said they recommended leaving 2,5000 troops on Afghanistan.

Rep. Waltz reacted to the news saying,

“Well, which is worse guy. Either, you know, he does have the mental faculties, right? The president doesn’t get to remember that or that he’s lying. Either one. It’s pretty bad. But I’ve known all along that the Pentagon recommended to both President Trump and to Biden that we needed to leave a residual force, one that continued to keep pressure on these terrorist groups, ISIS, al-Qaida and others, and to provide at a basic not out doing the fighting, but a basic backbone to the Afghan military. And that kept Bagram open, which is a strategic air base sandwiched between China, Russia and Iran. That was always the recommendation. So I’m glad it came out today in the Senate if it didn’t, than I was going to get it out tomorrow when they become before the House Armed Services Committee, because I’ve known that to be the case. Biden disregarded their advice, demanded, demanded they go to zero regardless of the conditions on the ground. And now we are where we are.”
