Ian Bremmer, President of Eurasia Group, spoke with Brian Kilmeade about the fallout from the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Bremmer feels one of the big mistakes President Biden made was not asking our allies, who fought with us for 20 years, their thoughts on the withdrawal and if they wanted to participate in defending the airport. Bremmer also addressed the leaked phone call between President Biden and former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani from July where President Biden told Ghani he had to change the perception about the fight against the Taliban whether it’s true or not. Bremmer believes Biden clearly knew that the Afghan defense forces were losing a lot of territory and the Taliban was feeling more confident. Another thing that upset Bremmer is the way we seem to be blaming the Afghan defense forces for not fighting after our troops were pulled out. Bremmer says they were fighting right up until the end and are incredibly courageous. Bremmer believes the American people need to understand just how brave these folks are.
