Chris Wallace: Secretary Blinken Didn’t Show Much ‘Backbone’ When Asked If Biden Knows What’s Going On
Listen To The Full Interview Below:
Chris Wallace, Anchor of Fox News Sunday joined Fox News Radio’s Guy Benson Show to discuss the political and military fallout of the attack on Kabul Airport in Afghanistan that killed 13 U.S. troops and nearly 200 Afghans.
Wallace commented on his interview last Sunday with secretary of state Antony Blinken, Challenging the secretary of state as to whether President Biden was aware of the criticism against him. Asking, “Mr. Secretary, does the President not know what’s going on?” To which the secretary of state pivoted away from the question.
Wallace commented on the exchange below,
“I do not think it was a very good performance by Secretary Blinken. I don’t think he showed much backbone in the interview. And I was a little surprised because I thought to myself, if I’d asked a question like that to Mike Pompeo or Hillary Clinton or go on and on and on, when you think of secretaries of state, I think they would have come back at me a lot stronger than Blinken did. And, you know, you need a secretary of state who’s got some some force and some gravitas and some, you know, some spine. I’m not saying that Blinken doesn’t have spine. But I thought that it was a weak performance on his part.”
