After almost two decades, America’s longest war is concluding with the Taliban retaking Afghanistan this week. The Biden administration has been met with huge backlash from both sides about the botched withdrawal, but the President has stood firm on his decision despite many people in America and across the world being left in shock at what many say is the U.S. abandoning the Afghan people and U.S. citizens that are still left in the country, trying to flee from the Taliban.
Earlier this week, host Jessica Rosenthal spoke with former U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan Hugo Llorens about how a troop withdrawal from the country turned into an evacuation effort to get Americans and our allies out of Afghanistan.
The conversation was too long and we could not include the whole interview with Ambassador Llorens. On today’s FOX News Rundown EXTRA you will hear Ambassador Llorens explain his time as Ambassador to Afghanistan working under Presidents Obama and Trump. If he expected the same or a better result if the withdrawal was done under former President Trump.
