Miranda Devine: Joe Biden Is “Gaslighting” About What’s Happening In Afghanistan
On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, guest host Paul Gleiser spoke with Fox News Contributor and NY Post columnist Miranda Devine just after President Biden addressed the nation about how he plans to evacuate the remaining Americans in Afghanistan.
“Joe Biden is gaslighting and giving this sort of fantasist reality of what’s on the ground. Maybe he could get away with that forty years ago or even twenty years ago when he was a Senator or Vice President, but these days, there’s so much video and images and reporting coming from in real time, from on the ground, everyone can see in real time that what he’s saying is not correct. And it sort of defies belief that he can look us in the eyes, look us in the face, look down the barrel of the camera and read those words off the teleprompter that are just wrong. And that if you’re watching what’s going on in real time, that’s not what’s happening. It’s not an orderly withdrawal. It’s not just the chaos that you might have expected when America withdrew. And what he really admitted is that they believed that the Afghan army would hold together.”
“He and his team, especially Anthony Blinken and Jake Sullivan, are just not up to it. They live in a fantasy world where everyone’s a gentleman and you sit around having meetings, you talk to the United Nations, that America does not use its power in the world, it just uses its power to talk and project its moral leadership. There’s a reason that America has a mighty military and well-trained soldiers and they just got their hands tied behind their back.”
