Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL): Democrats “Are Hanging On To Jan. 6th Because Their Agenda Sucks”

On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) discussed the Democrats forming a commission to look into the events of January 6th, whether he will become a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, and makes reference to the controversy over the all-white membership of a club that includes Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse.

DONALDS: “Tensions are high in the Capitol among members. The Democrats are still hanging on to January 6th for dear life because the rest of their agenda sucks. It’s just not good. The American people are revolting against it. In their base, they look at January 6th as if you voted not to certify, that think you shouldn’t even be in Congress. I think they got an issue with that internally. But those things will work itself out. I talked to some of the members on the side. We’ve had conversations on the floor. Some of us are making plans to get together and just have further conversations. I think those are positive things. But the Caucus has deal with its own internal politics. I’m not going to get involved. And then I’ll just tell them that I would be a member. And f they choose not to, that’s really on them, it’s got nothing to do with me.”

FAILLA: “No, I agree 100%. And I think you’re right to take the high road in that capacity. But I will tell you this. If you think the Congressional Black Caucus is hard to get into, you should try getting into Sheldon Whitehouse’s country club.”

DONALDS: “Listen, man, Sheldon won’t invite me. I know that. Well, he might invite me one way, but then I’ll be the one who needs that white blazer if you know what I’m talking about.”
