Dr. Nicole Saphier, Board Certified Medical Doctor, Senior Fox News Medical Contributor joined Fox News Radio’s Guy Benson Show to talk about covid vaccines, the WHO’s masks recommendation (even for the vaccinated) and the lockdown’s effects on children.

Dr. Nicole Saphier responded to the WHO’s masks recommendation saying,

“The whole impetus behind wearing masks was to lessen viral transmission. Well, we know that being fully vaccinated even post infection. Immunity lessens your chance of spreading that virus, decreasing the transmission itself. So if you have populations where you have a good amount that are immune, as we see in the United States, as we see in other parts in the world and adding those masks mandates are really going to do very little. I mean, as we’ve seen by study after study, well, mask mandates are 100 percent. They’re also not zero percent. But there’s somewhere in between, you know, whats greater than 90 percent? The vaccines. So the best thing that any country can do is get more vaccines to the country. I mean, I think Australia has about four percent of their population now vaccinated. And so they’re going in full on lockdown again because they’re having rising transmission, but not necessarily because of the Delta variant. It’s because of certain areas that don’t have the levels of herd immunity that some levels of the country do. I don’t think here in the United States you’re going to convince people that they need to be wearing masks again when you have such a low new cases, hospitalizations and deaths. It doesn’t make any sense at this point, certainly not during the summer months. All you can really do is recommend that people get vaccinated and you keep watching the community transmission levels. If you really start seeing a high break through infection of cases, then you have to start talking about some of these other means to lessen the spread. But right now, we’re not seeing that. Sure, you are going to have some breakthrough of cases from natural immunity and vaccine in this community. But I can tell you, it doesn’t seem that Delta is doing that. So Delta itself should not be having people wear masks again.”
