Brian Brenberg: Biden’s Child Tax Cut Plan “Is The Beginning Of Universal Basic Income”

On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Fox News Contributor Professor Brian Brenberg explains why the new tax cuts for children proposed by President Biden is really a way to introduce universal basic income to Americans.

“This really isn’t a tax credit anymore in the traditional way where if you pay taxes and you have kids, you can deduct it from your taxes. This is really more universal basic income. The money comes every month, July through December. And you get it no matter what, your tax liability is up to a certain income, but it is universal basic income. We are there. This isn’t theoretical. It’s supposed to end in December. You tell me if you think this a temporary program. So I just think people need to understand whether you like child tax credit or not, I get it. But that’s not what this is. This is the beginning of universal basic income in this country. And we ought to think about that, given what’s happened with all the free cash this year in labor markets, what it’s done to prices. So it’s not a child tax credit. It’s universal basic income, folks. It’s here. We’re doing it right now. And there are plenty folks who want to make it permanent.”
