Peter Doocy, Fox News Radio’s White House Correspondent joined the Guy Benson Show to talk about the news coming out of President Biden’s summit with Russian President Putin in Geneva Switzerland. Doocy pointed out that when he asked Biden about China and the efforts to get to the origins of the coronavirus pandemic. Biden rejected the idea that he and China’s Xi Jinping are ‘old friends’ after repeatedly touting their relationship on the campaign trail during the 2020 election.

Doocy told the Guy Benson Show that,
“I followed up and I basically asked him, OK, so what are you going to do? Because you’ve written a letter by yourself to China. You signed on to this G-7 communique urging them to be more transparent with the World Health Organization. They need this info from the early stage of covid. China and publicly saying they don’t want anybody messing with their data from last year. And they’re basically telling the World Health Organization to go kick rocks and they’re not going to do it. And the president said stick with diplomacy because he thinks eventually the pressure from the whole world will work. And so, I thought that that part of the answer that you just played was interesting. I spent a ton of time, as much time as anybody in the whole press corps with Biden on the campaign trail. And he spoke very often, especially in Iowa, where they do a lot of trade with China about how he was friends with XI, like they were both the number two in the U.S. and China. At the same time, they traveled together. They were alone together. And so to hear him now say that they are not friends was new.”
