Mark Morgan: The Root Causes For Illegal Immigration Is “America Is Just A Better Country”

On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, former Customs & Border Protection Administrator Mark Morgan reviews Vice President Harris’ answers on the border and criticizes the fanfare about her visiting the Northern Triangle.

“I think it’s beyond just substantively that she’s not going to the border. It’s the rhetoric that’s attached to that. First of all, they’re making it seem like her trip down to the Northern Triangle countries is the first time in modern history that anybody from the White House and any administration has ever been to the Northern Triangle. It’s absurd. I mean, I personally was there in my capacity under the Trump administration and other administrations prior to that, we’ve been down to the Northern Triangle countries. We reached unprecedented agreements, not just on the illegal immigration, but also on their internal security, corruption, and the list goes on and on. But yet they’re making it sound like this is the first time they’ve ever gone down there to talk about root causes. By the way, we’ve known what the root causes are for forty, fifty years. And here’s what it is. America is just a better country and people want to come here to earn more money, have a better house, have a better life. That’s the way it is. But it’s not mutually exclusive from the crisis has happened on the border.”
