FOX News Rundown Extra: What Republican Police Reform Would Look Like
Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all charges in the death of George Floyd on Tuesday. Following the Floyd verdict, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the Department of Justice will conduct a probe into the Minneapolis Police Department’s practices.
Congressman Pete Stauber (R-MN) is a former officer who has worked on police reform legislation with Senator Tim Scott (R-SC). After Tuesday’s verdict, he joined host Jessica Rosenthal on the ‘Rundown’ to talk about the legislation and how to improve policing relations within communities.
He also weighed in on AG Garland’s probe and how much the federal government should police local police departments. Rep. Stauber’s point of may surprise you as he sees several ways both Democrats and Republicans can agree on police reform.
The interview was too long and we could not include all of it in our original segment. On the FOX News Rundown, we bring you our entire conversation with former cop and Minnesota Republican Rep. Pete Stauber.
