Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA): There’s Nothing Racist About Wanting Fair Elections
On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA) reacted to Rep. Mondaire Jones (D-NY) calling objections to DC statehood “racist trash” and discussed the letter he signed with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) & Rep. James Comer (R-KY) to MBL Commissioner Rob Manfred about the All-Star Games being pulled from Georgia.
“(Jones) took down his own words for making such a ridiculous comment of that nature. But he said it twice. I mean, at least twice he made that comment and the race card is played. Look, nobody wants to be viewed as racist. I mean, for crying out loud, but we’re not racist because we want fair elections. There’s nothing racist about that. The Democrats are trying, in that DC bill, it is 100% about trying to get two more Senators. That’s all it’s about. And yet they’re going to try to blame the race card on anyone who disagrees with them. It’s just disgusting.”
“All these businesses consider themselves woke when what they are is they’re drunk with ignorance. In reality, this bill is going to help Georgia, prevent Georgia from going through the debacle of an election that we just went through. It’s going to make sure that we have good, free, fair elections in this state. And look what happens to the entire nation when a country falls short and allows looseness to dictate in the way they manage elections. It’s not only the state that suffers, but when you’re dealing with the Senate races as well as the presidential race, the entire nation suffers. We’ve got to get this stuff fixed. And I applaud the General Assembly of Georgia for doing a good job.”
