Howard Kurtz On 60 Minutes Controversial DeSantis Report “It Has Been An Utter Fiasco”

Listen To The Full Interview Below:

Howard Kurtz, host of Fox News Channel’s “MediaBuzz” joined Fox News Radio’s Guy Benson Show to discuss CBS’s 60 minutes report on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his handling of COVID vaccine distribution.

Howard Kurtz said,

“It has been an utter fiasco, you know, we’re not just talking about a mistake, we’re not just talking about maybe tilting the story one way, what 60 Minutes did quite deliberately. You know, the whole premise of the show is you got to have a villain identified bad guy that, you know, in the old days, Mike Wallace would chase down and they made it around DeSantis the Republican governor of Florida. And so they first of all, you know, they had the confrontation between the reporter Sharyn Alfonsi and the DeSantis at the news conference. They used a little bit of the back and forth, not any of the substance of his defense. That was inexcusable. You at least have to summarize it. And then, as you say, Guy, when Democrats, including the Democratic mayor of Palm Beach County, came out and said, I sawed out 60 Minutes, I sat down with 60 Minutes for nearly an hour, nothing that I said was used. I supported DeSantis. I supported this whole business about how Publix had given this big donation. Maybe that was the reason it got a back seat in Congress, as opposed to the fact that’s the biggest supermarket chain that everyone loves in the state of Florida. That shows me that 60 Minutes had no interest. I kept waiting for statements as well, perhaps. And we regret and, you know, never didn’t give an inch, acted like there was nothing wrong with the story.”
