Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT): The COVID Bill Is More About Democrats’ “Social Justice Agenda”
On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) explained why part of the COVID relief bill have less to do about helping the country and more about forwarding the Democrats’ “social justice agenda,” especially when it comes to race and the farmers of this country.
“The more the American people dig in to what is in this bill, the more outraged you’re going to become. The era of big government, huge government is unfortunately back and by the slimmest margins. We are fighting hard back here to stop this tidal wave from Pelosi. But we’re one Senate seat short from doing so. This is a six hundred twenty eight page liberal wish list truly disguised as COVID relief. This is Schumer & Pelosi’s greatest hits insert into this package spending. I mean, unbelievable amounts of money, one point nine trillion, most of which is doesn’t actually go to addressing COVID-19 relief. And as your listeners start to unpack this issue of socially disadvantaged farmers, five billion dollars are in there that pays off the loans from USDA to farmers. Doesn’t matter if it’s means or need based at all, it’s all based on race. And if you are Caucasian, you’re not eligible. So if you’re a wealthy Hispanic farmer or any person of color in California, you get your loan forgiven. These are big loans, typically six figures. Let’s just call it $200,000 for easy math, a $200,000 loan forgiven. Plus on top of that 20% cash in your pocket, so 40 grand in your pocket. Your $200,000 loan forgiven unless you were, let’s say, a white farmer in Montana of very little means, you’re not eligible. This is the beginning here of what they’re doing as it relates to their social justice agenda.”
