Shannon Bream: Impeachment Trial Is Meant To Score Points Against Trump And His Supporters

On Fox Across America in Jimmy Failla, “Fox News @ Night” anchor Shannon Bream discussed why the second impeachment trial of former President Trump is only a political way for Democrats to go after Trump and those who voted for him.

“I think they know that it would be much tougher to go to criminal court and try to prove this case as an incitement case based on statutory language and the fact that they have them. But this is not a purely legal play at all. I mean, impeachment is by its very nature, it’s political. You’re not going to have the same situation as you do with jurors that don’t know anything about the case and an impartial judge and all that kind of stuff. It’s just completely different. And I think they know that the criminal charges would be much, much harder, if not impossible in this case to prove. So they want to score points against not only President Trump but his supporters and just make it that everybody’s a crazy domestic terrorist and this is their best way to make that case.”
