On today’s Guy Benson Show, Shannon Bream, Fox’s chief legal correspondent & anchor of FOX News @ Night broke down the first day of former President Donald Trump’s second Senate impeachment trial.

Shannon Bream said,

“video is going to be the name of the game, it sounds like here, that very difficult to watch video that the House impeachment managers put on showed minute by minute what was going on at the House, at the Capitol. And as this all played out, that people outside with the president was saying they want to link it all together. And we have to remember that these things don’t necessarily happen in the timeframe that it may appear at first blush. We have to remember what the president was saying and that the people who were at the Capitol for those were in Washington knowing there’s some distance between those two places. Now, the people at the Capitol could have been listening to what he was saying. And his team is going to try to poke holes in that and saying this is a preplanned event. That’s what the Capitol Police chief who had to step down and resign the day after this happened on the Capitol riot. So this was a preplanned event. His attorneys are going to want to say what he said that day was not what actually spurred what happened at the Capitol. But the video is tough to watch. And you’re trying to make an emotional connection with your jury. But this is not just any jury. These are senators. They lived through that day. So many of them were probably taken right back to that. But many of them have probably already made up their minds about whether they think this is a constitutional proceeding or not and whether or not they’re going to convict the president.”
