“The purpose of a conviction would be removal and barring from office. Well, what is there to remove? You and I talked about the legality of pardoning someone before charges were brought. I mean, isn’t this the same logic one could argue? If we don’t have the Chief Justice the counter is, of course, the Pro Tempore is the one who presides over non-official hearings. But why are we there? Yeah, I don’t think history will look upon this favorably.”
