Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) On Court Packing: It Would Transform An Apolitical Institution Into Another Legislative Branch
Texas Senator John Cornyn (R) spoke with Fox News Radio’s Guy Benson about day one of Supreme Court nominee Amy Conny Barrett’s confirmation hearings. Cornyn also pushed back on the idea of ‘court packing’ saying,
“Chuck Schumer said everything’s on the table, including ruling, the filibuster from 60 votes to 51 votes and then making Puerto Rico and D.C. states, Packing the courts and who knows what else. So it’s not inconsistent with the Constitution, but it is clearly an abuse of power. And I think it would transform. as, Senator Sasse said, an apolitical institution like the Supreme Court into another legislative branch.”
