Congressman Will Hurd (R-TX) spoke with Brian today and defended Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s plan to reopen the state. “[Gov. Abbott] made it very clear, these are decisions that are being led by health concerns and protecting public health,” he said. “We still gotta be smart and follow social distancing but I think we can achieve both protecting public health and trying to restart our economy,” Hurd continued.
The Congressman also expressed concern about China’s geopolitical aspirations combined with signs of renewed cooperation with Russia and Iran. “The thing that is also scary to me is how the Chinese, the Russians and the Iranians are starting to coordinate on their disinformation campaigns,” Hurd said. “They’re playing a dangerous game.”
