Florida senator Marco Rubio called in to the Brian Kilmeade Show and blasted democrats, particularly Speaker Pelosi, for refusing to increase funding for the Paycheck Protection Program and insisting on more provisions.

“They have taken this program hostage because they want other things. What they’re basically saying is ‘until hospitals and cities and everybody else gets their money,’ which I’m in favor of, but ‘until they get their money, no one gets their money.’ The victims, the hostages here, are over 800,000 independent contractors, small businesses and not for profits who filled out applications and got left in limbo,” Sen. Rubio said.

Rubio went on to say that Speaker Pelosi’s assertion the program is not working for “underbanked” individuals is just not based in reality.

“That statement is just not backed by any facts. She offered zero facts, data or statistics to back that up. It’s just not. It’s just not supported by any facts,” he said.
