Tom Homan: President Trump Knew There Was A National Security Crisis On The Border

On FOX Across America with Jimmy Failla, Fox News Contributor and former ICE Director Tom Homan explained why President Trump was right to declare a national emergency on the border.

“Why did the President declare a national emergency? Because they’re looking at over a million coming across based on the numbers coming across every month and over 60,000 people died from opioid overdoses and opioids coming across that border. Thirty one percent of women are being raped. Children are dying. And with families crossing the border, 50-60% of the resources are no longer on the line, they’re making meals, changing diapers, making hospital runs, so the border was very vulnerable. So if you’re somebody in this world that wants to come to this country and blow something up, you can’t get a plane ticket anymore. It’s hard with all the database checks and the intelligence database checks, it’s hard to get a visa now for the same reason. So you don’t come across the border the same way twelve to twenty million others did especially with half the border patrol not on the line. The President recognized this humanitarian crisis was a national security crisis.”
