Dr. Nicole Saphier: We Need To Keep Hospital Beds As Open As Possible
On “FOX Across America with Jimmy Failla, Jimmy spoke with Fox News contributor Dr. Nicole Saphier about the importance of letting people have access to the care they need to combat the coronavirus outbreak.
“Our hospitals are not overrun right now, but we don’t know where this is going. We will have more cases. The more we test, we’re going to have more cases. So let’s be proactive here. There are a lot of elective medical procedures, meaning they’re not emergent. You know, you’re having something done, whether it’s a cosmetic surgery or something that could potentially be delayed. Perhaps we should consider postponing these elective procedures. We want to make sure that we aren’t taking care of someone that maybe is having something then that didn’t need to be. We have people needing to be put into an ICU. We needed to keep these beds as open as possible. It’s still flu season. We have to remember that. So we tend to be a lot busier during this time.”
