Dr. Marc Siegel: We Need Coronavirus Testing To Ramp Up, Not Paranoia

On “FOX Across America With Jimmy Failla,” Fox News Medical Correspondent Dr. Marc Siegel told Jimmy why people should call their doctors instead of showing up at emergency rooms, which could put more people at risk.

“I don’t want paranoia from someone that has a little allergy. If you have a question, you have to call your doctor. And there are hotlines now developing out there. We ??ed we need you to call because the E.R.s don’t want you if you may have coronavirus, then they’re going to put other people at risk. And the doctor’s office doesn’t really want you either. In fact, our medical centers saying don’t see patients right now who have a cough, shortness of breath and fever. And I want testing to ramp up so that I can have an answer to help guide not just you as an individual out there, but also our public health response. We need to know how common this virus really is. And we still don’t have an answer. We don’t really have an answer. We still think it’s way we think it’s way more common than people think but not in the millions.”
