Admiral James Stavridis (Ret), former Supreme Allied Commander at NATO, member of the Carlyle Group, and author of “Sailing True North: Ten Admirals and the Voyage of Character”, spoke with Brian Kilmeade about the seven day partial truce with the Taliban in Afghanistan that could lead to US troop withdrawals. Stavridis says it is important to keep a military presence in Afghanistan because a complete withdrawal will lead to Al Qaeda and the Islamic State (ISIS) taking root in Afghanistan. Stavridis believes in order for a realistic chance for peace, we have to get the Afghanistan government to sit down and talk with the Taliban.
