Ken Cuccinelli, Deputy Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, spoke with Mary Walter on The Brian Kilmeade Show about how the Trump administration has been reducing the number of border crossings. Cuccinelli explained how DHS has been getting more help from Mexico than from congress as border crossings have dropped from 140,000 in May to 40,000 in December.
Cuccinelli also discussed how the death of 92-year-old Maria Fuertes by an illegal immigrant in New York City has reignited the debate on sanctuary cities. Cuccinelli said the blood of Fuertes is on the hands of New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s for the sanctuary city policy that refused an ICE detainer request for Reeaz Khan, an illegal immigrant from Guyana, who is accused of killing Fuertes.
