Senator Lindsey Graham joined the Brian Kilmeade Show to discuss President Trump's warning to North Korea and why he believes Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blaming President Trump for having too high expectations for repealing Obamacare is ridiculous.

Lindsey Graham on Senator McConnell saying President Trump has excessive expectations

( Senator McConnell saying President Trump has excessive expectations ) "Part of the reason I think that the storyline is that we haven't done much is because, in part, the president and others have set these early timelines about things need to be done by a certain point // Our new president, of course, has not been in this line of work before. And I think he had excessive expectations about how quickly things happen in the democratic process."

(GRAHAM) I like Mitch but for eight years we've been saying we're going to repeal and replace Obamacare it's not like we made this up overnight. we have been working on repealing Obamacare all year, the idea put forward didn't pass it was in many ways an ill-conceived idea I'm not moving on I've got to build a block grant all the money which spend on Obamacare back to the states and put the governors in charge and at fifty different solutions they help care rather than the Obamacare solution which is a single payer plan over time so I'm not giving up President Trumps not giving up I'm going to introduce our bill with Senator Cassidy and I hope we'll take it up when we get back in September. There is no way to sugar coat test the republican party promised for eight years to repeal and replace Obamacare we failed and if we give up shame on us.

Lindsey Graham saying its ridiculous for Senator McConnell to say President Trump was rushing congress

(Kilmeade) I just don't think you can blame President Trump for rushing you how can you blame him for rushing you?

(GRAHAM) This is ridiculous. For for eight years, it is like being hit by slow moving bus in Kansas, you can see the bus coming. The bottom line is our bill did not test well it wasn't it was kind of Obamacare like to be honest we do I've got a dramatically different approach this is a republican approach take the money out of Washington sent back home and let states with all the flexibility and give them design health care systems that work for them that's called federalism The bottom line is we're not we didn't fail because we didn't have enough time we failed because we were not ready to solve the problem and we didn't have the right idea. This should have been the first idea of a republican is to take the money and power it Washington and send it back home unfortunately it was our last idea but we're going to take this idea and when the President Trump's back and republican governors I've got a very good feeling that we can get repeal and replaced him with a block grant.

Lindsey Graham on Senator McCain taking exception to President Trump saying North Korea will be met with the fire and the fury

(Audio of Senator McCain) "I take exception to the president's comments because you gotta be sure you can do what you say you're gonna do. in other words, the old 'walk softly but carry a big stick,' Teddy Roosevelt's saying which something I think should have applied because all it's gonna do is bring us closer to some kind of serious confrontation."

(Kilmeade) Are you surprised on his take about the president's words?

(GRAHAM) You know you know John has his view of this and I respect him tremendously. All I would say is it all the words for the last thirty years haven't worked. All the really smart people have failed miserably when it comes to North Korea republicans and democrats have failed miserably now we're at a point where you can't kick the can down the road.
