Dana Perino: Sometimes Softening Up Relations With The Press Is A Good Thing

Dana Perino, Co-Host of The Five and former Press Secretary for President George W. Bush joined Ed Henry on the Brian Kilmeade Show to discuss newly appointed White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci. Perino said that this move immediately reminded her of 2006 when then President George W. Bush removed Scott McClellan in favor of Tony Snow. “Sometimes softening up relations is a good thing. Tony did exactly that.” When asked by Ed if she felt that there were any glaring problems with the White House communications staff Dana quickly chimed in saying, “I don’t think this White House has a communication problem at large rather they are having problems getting off topics.” Many have speculated that the appointment of Scaramucci could have been a message sent to Chief of Staff Reince Priebus.
