In this mid-1970’s photo provided by Guernsey’s, Jerry Garcia plays his infamous “Wolf” guitar at an outdoor concert in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. Garcia’s guitar will go on auction May 31, 2017, at a Brooklyn bowling alley, restaurant and music venue, with proceeds benefitting the Alabama-based Southern Poverty Law Center. Devoted Deadhead, philanthropist, musician and film director Daniel Pritzker bought the guitar in 2002 at Guernsey’s for $790,000. This time the Wolf guitar could fetch as much as $1 million.
