Pair of NFL Teams Hire New Head Coaches

There are fewer head coaching vacancies in the NFL.

FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:

The Denver Broncos hiring Vance Joseph, who served as Miami’s defensive coordinator this season. The 44-year-old was the runner-up for the Broncos head coaching job two years ago, when the team hired Gary Kubiak. Kubiak stepped down after this season due to health reasons.

Team president John Elway thinks the team is primed for another Super Bowl run:

(Elway) “We got the defense to build on and I think that we feel like we’re right in the hunt.”

The Buffalo Bills, meanwhile, agreeing to terms with Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott as their new head coach.

The 42-year-old has been an assistant coach in the NFL since 2001. Joseph and McDermott are both first-time head coaches and become the third and fourth youngest in their position in the NFL.
