There is only one man who has been featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated more than Muhammad Ali... NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan, but SI is paying tribute to "The Greatest" following his passing last week.

The face of the man known as "The Greatest" will be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated for a 40th time. The cover is a photo of a smiling Muhammad Ali leaning over the ropes of a boxing ring is shown, with the dates 1942 to 2016 below.

Photographer Neil Leifer shot the portrait of Ali as he trained in a Miami Beach gym on October 9, 1970. Michael Jordan is the only athlete to have appeared on more Sports Illustrated covers, 42 in all for him.

Ali died on last Friday night at the age of 74. His funeral is set for Friday afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky.
