The NBA’s MVP Backs Out of Rio Olympics
Quite possibly the highest-profile yet to announce he is skipping this summer’s Olympics.
FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:
NBA MVP Steph Curry will not compete in this summer’s Olympics in Rio. The Warriors guard saying in a statement that he has decided to skip the games for several reasons, including recent knee and ankle injuries.
He joins NBA All-Stars Chris Paul and Anthony Davis, who have already withdrawn from consideration for the two-time defending gold medal champion USA basketball team. LaMarcus Aldridge of the Spurs, also reportedly withdrawing Monday, citing a recent hand and finger injury.
Curry has yet to play in an Olympics. Andre Iguodala, the only member of the Warriors to win a gold, is reportedly considering skipping the games… Zika chief among his concerns.
