Rick Santorum Wants To Encourage More People To Carry Guns To Protect Themselves From Home Grown Terrorism
“The bottom line is Americans feel unsafe because this president is not keeping us safe. This president is not confronting the root cause of terrorism in this country. He is not doing the things necessary in this county, he is actually making it harder for police to do their job. The idea that terrorism now is going to be organic by ISIS incentivizing people to do what they did in San Bernardino, people randomly going out and following ISIS.… I would argue we want to encourage people to carry guns…in San Bernardino, if one person had a gun. If you walked into a school, if you had a kid in a school, wouldn’t you want someone to have a gun in that school so they could fire back on somebody? My answer is yes.”
—Rick Santorum on why he encourages more people to carry guns
2016 GOP presidential candidate, former Pennsylvania senator, Rick Santorum, joined Kilmeade & Friends to argue that more Americans should carry guns to be able to defend themselves from the growing threat of homegrown terrorism. Santorum spoke about the upcoming debate and why he agrees with Senator Rand Paul that the media shouldn’t dictate which candidates are worthy of the first-tier debate stage, explaining how his campaign and others have been devastated by the criteria the networks use to determine who makes the main debate stage and who is relegated to the second tier. Plus, Santorum explains why some of the candidates are targeting Ted Cruz.

Rick Santorum on Rand Paul saying the media shouldn’t dictate which candidates are in the first tier and second tier debates.
“He is absolutely right. The way the media has dealt with this campaign, putting first-tier and second-tier campaigns has been devastating for all the campaigns in my opinion, except for Donald Trump. Trump has been the guy who has been the great beneficiary of it because he has not had to deal with all the campaigns and all the candidates. The candidates that have not been on the first stage have been greatly disadvantaged. I can tell you, it’s been devastating to us, I think Mike Huckabee would tell you the same thing and most of the other folks who have been in the second-tier are not in this race anymore. The media’s job is not to decide what campaign is credible or not. It’s the job of the voters to do that, the media’s job is to give everybody the opportunity to be heard.”
Santorum on targeting Ted Cruz in his latest ad
“The idea we are going to put in someone with absolutely no experience or has 2 years of grandstanding in Washington D.C. as the person we want to lead against the most serious threat this country has ever faced, that the world has ever faced, I don’t think republicans are ultimately are going to do that.”
Santorum on Cruz saying he would carpet bomb ISIS
“I don’t know where someone who uses a World War II term, with dumb bombs hitting population centers and industrial centers, to use that type of term and say we can win this by the air and by using carpet bombs. This is completely detached from the last 25 years of warfare in the world.”
