This morning Governor Chris Christie spoke with Brian Kilmeade on Kilmeade and Friends. They talked about Hillary's emails, the Iran deal, education policy and fat jokes.
CHRIS CHRISTIE - RESPONDS TO BRIAN FALLON - HILLARY'S EXTRAORDINARY ARROGANCE
"This is Hilary Clintons extraordinary arrogance at not wanting to address the central issue to start with. Why did she have a private e-mail server? Why she wasn't she using her official e-mail account for her business? We wouldn't even be having this conversation if she used her official e-mail account. And then why did she wipe the e-mail server clean?" Before you get to the issue of whether she violated American law by releasing vulnerable, classified information, let's get to the first instance. Why was it she was not using her official e-mail account? It's not like she had a private e-mail account to do private things. She was doing all of her business through those accounts and she has had shifting excuses for this. Remember, Brian, first it was she just wanted the convenience of carrying one device. Well, when everyone found out that was complete bologna then she shifts her excuse to something else. Until she answers the fundamental question of why, when she became Secretary of State, she was being so secretive from the American people that she works with, we don't even get to the other issues. This is typical Clinton distraction politics. This is why she is not a leader and why she can't be trusted to be President of the United States."
CHRIS CHRISTIE - ASK PATRAEUS, SANDY BERGER IF WHAT HILLARY DID WAS CRIMINAL
"We are a country of laws, not a country of men and women, Brian. The fact is, if you want to know how this becomes criminal ask David Petraeus. One of the most celebrated generals in this country's history, who was prosecuted for making classified information unsecure. You know, ask Sandy Berger who was from her husband's administration. Who was also prosecuted for the inappropriate handling of classified information. If she has inappropriately handled classified information, she deserves to be prosecuted and convicted. It's that simple. It doesn't matter who she is or what her last name is because we are still a country of laws and not a country of men and women. And you are right, we are getting perilously close to the absolutely necessity for the Justice Department to prosecute Hilary Clinton."
CHRIS CHRISTIE - ON THE IAEA ALLOWING IRAN TO INSPECT ITSELF
"It just puts to the lie, what the president has been lying about since this was announced. He lied about inspections. He said the fundamental underpinning of the nuclear side of this agreement was we had anytime, anywhere access to inspect Iranian sites. Now, we do not have anytime anywhere access, we know now that we have to wait 24 days to get access to a suspicious site where we think suspicious conduct may be occurring. As a former prosecutor, Brian, that's like me getting a search warrant for somebody's house and coming back and saying 'look I have the search warrant and I will come back in 24 days to see if there is any evidence here.' Even the dumbest criminal here in New Jersey would know to move the evidence before I came back."
CHRIS CHRISTIE - OBAMA IS THE WORST NEGOTIATOR IN US HISTORY
"Now we find out that the Iranians are allowed to inspect the sandy themselves and report to the IAEA? This President is the worst negotiator in the history of the presidency. He has put American and Israeli and Saudi and Egyptian lives at risk because of what he has done."
CHRIS CHRISTIE - IT IS TIME FOR DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS TO STAND UP TO THE IRAN DEAL
"It is time for democrats and republicans, both, to stand up and do the right thing. This isn't about politics, this is about the future of our national security and the security of our friends and allies. Any democrat who looks at this deal is just looking at the mirror and lying to themselves."
CHRIS CHRISTIE - WHY TEACHERS UNIONS NEED A POLITICAL PUNCH IN THE FACE
"Because they care more about protecting their members and getting more benefits on the pubic dole than they care about educating our children. How about this, this is just one statistic, an average teacher who works for thirty years puts $126,000 into their pension and their health benefits cost. You know what they get out of it during their lifetime? $2.5 million. This is what the teachers union has done to budgets in our country. And at the same time they fight tooth and nail to protect the very worst of their members. They're retarding the growth of education in this country. They are hurting our children and all they care about is the comfort of adults and not the potential of children."
CHRIS CHRISTIE - BUSH IS LEARNING THE COUNTRY DOESN'T LIKE COMMON CORE AND THEY DON'T WANT IT
"Gov Bush is learning that the people of this country don't like common core and they don't want it. I learned that in NJ and that is why we killed it. And we are moving to higher NJ standards. The fact is, that is what you do as a leader. I took action in NJ to make sure common core was ended because nobody in our state, not teachers, not parents or students, were buying into what the federal government was selling through common core and that is why we killed it in NJ and that is why we are moving towards our own higher NJ standards that will be implemented next year."
CHRIS CHRISTIE - ON FAT JOKES
"I think there is a general insensitivity by a lot of folks in public life to people who struggle with their weight. I just think there is and I think it is unfortunate. Now for me, I am in public life, Brian . Listen, if a weight joke is the worst thing that happens to me on any given day then it is a good day, baby!"
