US Senate Cook: ‘I Want An Executive Order’ For Higher Wages
Friday on “The Alan Colmes Show,” Alan spoke with Bertrand Olotara, a cook in the US Senate Cafeteria, who went on a one day strike to raise awareness about the low wages he and his co-workers are earning. He also penned an op-ed recently about what he goes through each day as a single father making $12 an hour.
Olotara told Alan about how he doesn’t want to be on food stamps because he is a taxpayer as well, why he hopes that President Obama (or the next President in 2016) will sign an executive order making the minimum wage $15 an hour, and what he hoped the strike accomplished.
