Graeme Wood, contributing editor for The Atlantic, spoke with Brian about his article "What ISIS Really Wants." Wood explained that ISIS has chosen to take select texts from the Koran to fuel their ideology, unlike most followers of Islam who reject violence. Wood explained what makes ISIS different than Osama bin Laden is ISIS are very aggressive towards other Muslims who are either from a different sect or are middle of the road followers, as opposed to bin Laden, who focused his hatred against American and the West. Wood believes the key to defeating ISIS is to make them look like an unpleasant group that doesn't give their followers a happy life.
