Bruce Feldman the author of “The QB: The Making Of Modern Quarterbacks” was on and talked to Brian and said that the prototypical quarterback in the NFL now is Aaron Rodgers. He also explained that if a quarterback can’t throw accurately from the pocket he will not be able to succeed in the NFL. Feldman also explained why Tim Tebow didn’t make it back to the NFL because he didn’t have the confidence and the vision to make the right reads.
The universal trait of all great successful quarterbacks is to be a problem solver, like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. They stand at the line of scrimmage and can decipher what the defense is trying to do and will counter their attack, just like a coach on the field. He also feels that Johnny Manziel will ultimately make it in the NFL because he is super competitive, but he needs to grow up.
