BRIAN'S QUOTE OF THE DAY
"We have to have the ability to cut in the right way. Not automatic cuts, smart cuts. And that is why I believe this thing is going to get done because Senator Susan Collins, a moderate republican, has put together a program that would give the president his raise in the debt ceiling in turn for putting on hold the medical device tax. And having the president have additional controls over what is going to be cut and not cut out of the budget. You just can't go across every single department and cut. Some should be destroyed, some should be dissolved and some should be bolstered! You have got to be smart about it. That is what we have people and not machines running this country! "
STEPHEN MOORE, senior writer for the WSJ, confessed he was listening to NPR this morning who was just quoting a bunch of economists talking about how the country is going to default. Moore was outraged and declared it was all a "bunch of crap!" Moore said we are not going to default, it is just scaremongering from this administration!
DISARRAY, DESIREE... ~ STEVE DOOCY attempted to talk to Brian about the latest coming out of Libya saying that the country is in total "disarray" which somehow through Brian off his game and prompted him to ask, "What kind of Desiree? Was that the hooker with Hugh Downs?"
Brian kicked off his weekly segment with Chris Wallace, host of Fox News Sunday, by applauding him for his hard-hitting interview with Jack Lew last Sunday, "You were the only one to get something worthwhile from him." Chris also gave some more credit to Speaker Boehner than Brian has for his handling of the budget battle. Chris says "If the Republicans can come out of this and get a serious deal with reform, then he might survive this pretty well. Chris also praised the addition of George Will on the panel, "It's like having a dinner party and I think, wow, it's so cool having all these people at my party."
Jon Gilliam, a former FBI Special Agent, NAVY SEAL, and Federal Air Marshal joined Brian to discuss the United States recent terror raids in Libya & Somalia. With regards to the operation in Somalia, Jon said, "It wasn't that it was a failed mission, it was a mission where they pulled back because they didn't want to kill innocent children; however the failure is that this information went public. It doesn't make any sense to blurb this stuff out. Brian pointed out that is what logically caused the Libyan PM to be kidnapped."
FOX's LELAND VITTER joined Brian to relay the latest coming out of Libya regarding the kidnapping and safe return of Prime Minister Ali Zidan. Leland reported the abduction appeared to be in retaliation for the U.S. special forces' raid over the weekend that seized a Libyan al-Qaida suspect from the streets of the capital.
Dr. Tiffany Yecke Brooks, who helped Brian with his new book, 'George Washington's Secret Six, recalled how breathtaking it was to investigate and uncover the details of The Culper Spy Ring. She explained that the great thing about this non-fiction historical book is that even though we already know the ending, the book takes readers on several suspenseful rides, there were so many close calls and nail-biting moments.
