BRIAN’S QUOTE OF THE DAY

ON THE QUESTIONS ASKED OF PRESIDENT OBAMA AT YESTERDAY’S PRESSER

I did not hear one question that I wanted answered.  Not one.  The President of the United States is in a stalemate..so I am expecting people to say, ‘Hey, Mr. President… you said you will not negotiate on the credit rating of the country.  Well, it’s been done before.  Didn’t you say it is unprecedented because that is not true.  And by the way you voted against raising the debt limit!’…But at the very least ask him the question!

HOUR ONE

Brian asked former Congressman and LT. COL. ALLEN WEST for his reaction on the suspension of death benefits.  West said it is disgusting and a failure of leadership that goes back to the Commander in Chief and the Secretary of Defense!

Leigh Steinberg, legendary sports agent who was the inspirations for Jerry Maguire, weighed in on Hal Steinbrenner’s public comments on Robinson Cano.  Steinberg advised that Steinbrenner should not negotiate through the press because public negotiations hurt the player’s image with the fans which then pushes them away.

HOUR TWO

Brian spoke with Claire Bellerjeau, a researcher & historian who played a vital part in helping him uncover the amazing details for his book, George Washington’s Secret Six.  An expert on the spy Robert Townsend, Claire describes how crucial his role was in getting the necessary intelligence to George Washington. Washington, who never actually met Townsend, described  him as “the most valuable source of information,”perhaps because of his intelligence and ability to understand shipping and movement.  Because of his mercantile business, he was able to  supply excellent information from New York City to Gen. Washington without the British catching on.

Brian checked in with Fox’s Congressional correspondent Mike Emanuel.  Brian inquired about the budget battle D.C: “Well, it’s kind of a mess up here. Every Democrat and Republican I question on Capitol Hill has no clear answer. Everyone seems to be suggesting that closer to the 17th we might see more movement.”

Brian and Mike also discussed Obama’s decision to not take any questions from established reporters during yesterday press conference.

HOUR 3

FOX’s Adam Housley joined Brian and offered up new information on the operation in Libya.  He revealed the State Department and Joint Chiefs had the intelligence since January and wondered why they sat on the intel for so long  only to launch the operation last weekend.

Brian’s favorite America’s Newsroom anchors, BILL HEMMER & MARTHA MACCALLUM, made their weekly Wednesday appearance on Kilmeade and Friends and offered up their insight on the negotiations, or lack thereof, between President Obama and Speaker Boehner.  Martha talked about an event she was at last night with Erskine Bowles (former Chief of Staff to President Clinton) who said if he handed President Clinton this deal, a bipartisan agreement to fix the long-term fiscal situation, and told him we had good bipartisan support, he would have embraced it!
