BRIAN’S QUOTE OF THE DAY

Brian on the impending government shutdown: “Four days and counting. Four days and counting until Obamacare kicks in; and four days and counting until the government shuts down… These guys can’t do anything on deadline. They need the fact there’s a drop dead timeline, and that’s where we’re at.”

HOUR ONE

FOX News Strategic Analyst LT. COL. RALPH PETERS weighed in on President Obama saying that “the world is more stable than it was five years ago.” Peters thinks this claim is ridiculous. “The president clearly lives in a parallel universe… I’m afraid that on some level he must believe his own propaganda.”  He went on to say that compared to five years ago, the world is vastly less stable citing the Arab Spring, the deterioration of Pakistan, and Iran getting closer to nuclear weapons all as examples.

LISA DAFTARI, journalist and Fox News contributor, talked about whether or not she is surprised that President Rouhani changed his tactic from previous Iranian President Ahmadinejad.  Daftari said she is “not at all” surprised.  “This is exactly what we would’ve expected.  That the moderates in Iran, they have the same agenda as the hard-liners.  If anything, the hard-liners are easier to follow because their rhetoric matches their harsh actions,” she exclaimed.

FOX News Contributor and movie guru KEVIN MCCARTHY talked to Brian about which new movies are a go and which movies are a no. McCarthy said that Don Jon, the movie that Joseph Gordon-Levitt wrote, directed, produced and starred in, is phenomenal.  “I honestly think he’s one of the most talented guys in Hollywood,” McCarthy said about the young star.  He did warn that the film includes a lot of explicit content, so don’t bring any children.

HOUR TWO

Brian and STUART VARNEY from Varney & Co did another simulcast on the FOX Business Network.  Brian tried to redeem himself from last week’s simulcast and chose another three NFL teams to win over the weekend: Cincinnati over the Cleveland Browns; Tennessee over the Jets; and Indianapolis over the Jaguars.

Varney, as per usual, said that Brian’s choices were “pathetic” and that the teams he chose were too easy.  Varney chose the Washington Red Skins to win over the Raiders, the Dallas Cowboys over the Chargers and the Giants over the Chiefs.

CHRIS STIREWALT, host of Power Play, talked to Brian about his upcoming book.  “Whatever this book is that you have coming out about George Washington, why is it that they had to build this entire library – I’m standing outside it, it’s huge; they spent 105 million dollars on it – just to keep your book? I mean how good is this book really?”  Brian answered, “They’re going to build a library around it!”  He went on to tell Stirewalt what the book is about; George Washington acting as a spymaster and the spy network he set up.

HOUR THREE

FOX News Anchor ALISYN CAMEROTA talked to Brian about her brand new show on the FOX News Channel that debuts this coming Monday!  Then, PAUL MECURIO joined the dynamic duo and talked about the impending government shut down.  “This country seems more upset about Breaking Bad ending than the government ending. Everybody’s talking about that,” Mecurio exclaimed!
