BRIAN'S QUOTE OF THE DAY
Brian on Elisabeth Hasselbeck News: "I used to take great pride in being the best athlete on the set, but now Anna Kooiman is a tri-athlete... and successful track athlete so I'm second. Then Hasselbeck comes in and is an outstanding softball player in college so now I'm third! How do you think emotionally I feel about that? Does anyone take my self-esteem into account when they make these changes?!"
RNC Chairman REINCE PRIEBUS sounded off to Brian about why Obamacare cannot - and should not - be implemented. "It can't be implemented, and it shouldn't be!" Priebus exclaimed, "They've basically now made it totally irresponsible and malpractice for the House and the Senate to fund any part of Obamacare."
COL. ALLEN WEST, former Florida Congressman, talked to Brian about the mounting tension between Obama and Hamid Karzai that may result in the U.S. leaving Afghanistan by the end of the year. "We've got to start thinking strategically; and I think that's something this administration is not doing very well," West said. He went onto say that this would be a "slap in the face" to Karzai.
JENNA LEE, co-host of Happening Now, talked to Brian about Obamacare. Jenna put the issue into perspective: "The government has computers that monitor all of our calls and e-mails, and potentially text messages and Internet searches... but the computer for health care can't figure out if you're a smoker!"
FOX's Chief Congressional Correspondent, MIKE EMANUEL, talked to Brian about President Obama's nominee for FBI Director, James Comey. Emanuel said that while Comey did get some questions, it was "pretty much a love fest in the Senate Judiciary Committee." "I did not see anything yesterday that seemed to suggest he was in any trouble whatsoever... It should be a swift and overwhelming confirmation."
Brian did a simulcast with STUART VARNEY on Varney & Co! The duo argued about whether or not the influx in steroid use within the MLB would increase the attendance and ratings of baseball games. Varney exclaimed, "Don't you think... that the attendance and the ratings would come back again if we had guys banging it out of the ballpark all the time, whether they're juiced or not? That's what people want, they want performance!" Brian responded, "I think they want authenticity in performance." Later, the duo talked about the news that Elisabeth Hasselbeck is going to be the new FOX & Friends anchor starting in September.
GENERAL PAUL VALLELY, author of the upcoming book Betrayed: Exposing the High Cost of the War on Terror, talked to Brian about his fascinating new book. "There is just a thread of deception and lies that are being told and propagated by our senior officials and government," Vallely explained. Vallely also weighed in on the decrease in the number of generals that we have seen lately.
America's Newsroom co-host MARTHA MACCALLUM stopped by and talked to Brian about the exciting news that Elisabeth Hasselbeck would be taking Gretchen Carlson's spot on the curvy couch of FOX & Friends this September!
