BRIAN’S THOUGHTS

Brian’s thoughts on NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden: “I don’t know who this guy is. I’m not going to worship him. People are holding him up as a hero.  Bottom line is he exposed more American leaks… There’s no one who benefits from this program being exposed.  There has to be a way for this program to be known to the American people without exposing the way it operates because terrorists adjust.”

HOUR ONE

New York Post Columnist MICHAEL GOODWIN talked to Brian about his latest column, Snooping’s a Slippery Slope about the PRISM spying.  “I think that technology is the key here,” Goodwin explained, “Because the spy agencies and all kind of security agencies can, through the use of technology, sort of ‘sweep up’ all kinds of data, they do.  I don’t for a minute suggest that this is illegal; I think it is part of the broad sweep envisioned in the Patriot Act, but the technology has changed.

FOX News’ Chief White House Correspondent ED HENRY talked to Brian today about former CIA officer Bob Baer’s comments about PRISM spying.  Henry said he thinks it is curious that all these revelations are coming out in the days leading up to the summit between the U.S. and Chinese Presidents.

He went on to say that Baer made a lot of great points: “Was there some sort of connection between the Chinese helping get these stories out in some sort of way that helped them in terms of weakening the U.S.? We can’t answer that question right now, but I think Mr. Baer… is raising some of those same questions. It is very curious.”

HOUR TWO

Co-founder, spokesman and leader of the English Defence League (EDL), TOMMY ROBINSON, talked to Brian about why he formed the EDL and the impact it has had in the UK.  “We formed 4 years due to an inability by our government or our police forces to tackle radical Islam,” Robinson explained.

He also talked about Lee Rigby, the British soldier who was attacked and beheaded in broad daylight on the streets of London by two radical Islamists, and how this act of brutality has impacted the EDL.

HOUR THREE

BRET BAIER, anchor of Special Report with Bret Baier, weighed in on the prosecution of Edward Snowden, the ex-CIA worker-turned NSA whistleblower.  Baier said he thinks the prosecution of Snowden is inevitable: “I think it’s going to move forward. I think there’s probably no choice for the administration not to move forward with the prosecution given their track record of going after leakers,” he explained.

Chief Washington Correspondent, JAMES ROSEN, also talked to Brian about the prosecution of Edward Snowden.  Rosen, who was talking to Brian from the Department of State, said that the questions relating to Snowden at the moment all deal with apprehending him because authorities have deemed this a crime.  “The first questions are, ‘Can he be extradited to the United States?’ and so forth,” Rosen explained.
