Can’t Imagine Why My State Is Broke (and Broken)!

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

And even if it IS broke, don’t fix it!

That’s the mantra these days of the Government it seems.

California is run centrally by liberal democrats who haven’t a CLUE what they are doing. But what they are doing is ruining a once great and prosperous state and flushing it down the politically correct low flush toilet.

Just when I think nothing from my home state will surprise me, I see stories like the following:

“Nurse making $270K on California Overtime Binge.”

Nice. Boy I got into the wrong line of work. $270,000 DOLLARS?!?! GOOD FREAKING GRIEF.

If that were a private sector nurse, I wouldn’t be writing this blog about it.

But this is someone I AM PAYING. I can barely keep my household running. My state is BROKE beyond comprehension.

Yet there is money to pay a nurse at a men’s prison $270,000?!?!

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg as they say.

California state workers collected a total of $1.7 BILLION of extra pay last year!! More than HALF of that in overtime, according to Bloomberg News.

To add insult to injury, the above pay was enough to pay the average salaries around 25,000 teachers. Nice, huh?

A contributing reason for this senseless fiscal carnage? Union negotiated “pay differentials” that give breaks to workers at the expense of mounting overtime on others. Hundreds of these pay differentials have been facilitated by the unions.

What a racket, in my opinion.

Among other examples of the economic bloodletting?

How about the prison doctor who, upon retirement, cashed out almost $600,000 of vacation time.

When was the last time your private sector boss gave YOU a bonus??

You should have been working at the Department of General Services in California. This is the place where certain workers exhibiting “exceptional performance” were eligible for a $10,000 bonus.

Can you BELIEVE this??

California isn’t the only state in crisis. In fact, more states are than not. It’s just an example of how public unions and out of control stupidity are strangling a once great place.

Where do you think YOUR kids are going to want to work? Do you think the private sector will seem inviting to them? When studies have shown that millions in government positions make significantly MORE than their private sector counterparts?

Imagine a day when we will all be paid by the taxpayers. On TOP of a record number of Americans collecting a form of government entitlement (which is ALREADY reality).

And imagine what this mess will look like then.
