The Satisfaction of Fitting Into a Kid’s Shirt
Many of you have followed my weight loss goal of 40 by 40. That was to lose 40 pounds by age 40.
I made it.
Now my goal is to lose at least another 10 by the end of the year.
I’ve been feeling the extra energy, stamina, and well being that comes from shedding so much excess cargo from your body.
But last night, after a couple of glasses of Two Buck Chuck from Trader Joe’s, I got silly with the kids and put on one of their Yu Gi Oh shirts.
I don’t know anything about that franchise, but I do know that this shirt was designed for little kids.
It was meant as a joke and to shock the kids with uneasy laughter.
But I actually was about to get it on me AND button it all the way!!
Yes, there are more important things going on in the world than my being able to fit into a child’s novelty shirt.
But it’s just further proof of what you can accomplish if you put your mind to it. 40 pounds ago, I would have looked like a complete sausage, and it’s doubtful I could have even gotten the shirt ON me in the first place.
The really cool thing now?
I can now shop for really cool clothes in the boy’s section of Target.
Just kidding.
Sort of.
