Halfway to My 40 by 40 Goal

Some of you may have heard me talking about my 40 by 40 goal.

My goal, first revealed on the radio a couple months back, is to lose 40 pounds by my 40th birthday. Hence, 40 by 40.

Catchy, yes?

And I am pleased to announce I am halfway there. I am down 20 to 21 pounds with 4 full months left to lose the other half.

It won’t be the worst thing to ever happen to me if I DO NOT meet that goal. Losing 40 pounds isn’t an easy thing to do.

But it’s an exercise–no pun intended–in positive thinking, goal setting, and believing in yourself.

It’s hard to believe that the same jeans that made me feel like a human sausage a few months ago are now falling off my hips. I am constantly pulling them up, lest I start looking like a teenage boy showing off his Calvin Kleins.

I am amazed at how much extra energy I have, and between chasing ghosts and six kids and radio and home life, I need every bit of it.

This blog is not for you to congratulate me. Lord knows people have set and met much loftier goals than what I have set out to accomplish.

It is merely to inspire and keep you up to date. If a schlep like me can do it, anyone can.

I need to average a 5 pound weight loss over each of the next 4 months. Doable? Absolutely.

Set your mind to a worthwhile goal that doesn’t hurt others…put all of your attention and energy on that goal…believe it will be achieved…act as if you already HAVE achieved it…and watch miracles unfold.

GO GET ‘EM.
