Today, the President of the United States of America, while on an official trip to China, will sign an executive order directing the government not to waste money. He might as well order water to run up hill or command the earth to be flat. The federal government conceded last night that in the ten months of the Obama presidency, it has wasted NINETY-SIX BILLION TAXPAYER DOLLARS. No one can take the executive order he will sign seriously. The problem with government is that it is the negation of freedom. When it runs something like the Post Office or Amtrak, it does not need to reward investors or entice consumers. It just treats us like dumb sheep, and it will continue to do so until we make fundamental changes to assure that the word "free" returns to the free market.
