Last week I blasted the release of the Pan Am Flight 103 bomber and mass murdering terrorist in Scotland.

A new poll finds the 82% of Americans disapprove of the move.

Only 82%??

And 10% actually SUPPORT the decision?? Who are these 10%? They are OK with releasing a man who butchered 270 innocent people? Because he was supposedly dying of prostate cancer?

Those have to be some of the same people who wouldn't try to cure their child's life threatening ailment if it meant experimenting on a chimp.

Governor Schwarzenegger has supported the release of a convicted killer on the grounds her days are limited due to lung cancer.

We've already discussed the release of Manson follower and would-be Presidential assassin Squeaky Fromme earlier this month.

And now we are being told that recently convicted Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff is dying of cancer and is taking 20 pills a day for his illness.

How could such a compassionate world sit back and watch Madoff rot for the next 150 years if he is dying of cancer??

Shouldn't he be with his family and friends in the comfort of a million dollar suite somewhere?

After all, compassion has released a woman who tried to kill the President of the United States, a man who murdered almost 300 people in a terrorist attack, and many others who had committed a variety of offenses.

So why not a financial crook? Where is the love NOW that Bernie needs it??

Don't get me wrong. None of these crooks and killers should be released EVER.

But that's not the point.

The point is that the precedent has been set. And a dangerous one at that.

Maybe it's time to throw compassion for criminals into the slammer and throw away the key.
